Academic Literature Journal of Social Sciences Research (AKALİD) articles should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including notes, tables, and figures, and block quotations should not exceed 10% of the total word count of the article.

▪ Since articles will be sent to reviewers, the author(s)’ name, title, affiliated institution, and email address should never appear under the article title.

▪ Articles should include a short summary (abstract) in both Turkish and English, not exceeding 5% of the main text. To be indexed, these abstracts must include 3-5 keywords. The English part of the abstracts will be checked by our language editors, and if deemed appropriate, the articles will be included in the process. The editorial board may make minor changes to the Turkish and English titles of the articles if necessary.

▪ Articles must be uploaded to the system by authors together with a plagiarism report. Articles without a plagiarism report will not be sent to reviewers and will not enter the review process. Authors may be asked to revise the text up to two times; otherwise, the evaluation process will result in rejection.

▪ Articles must be submitted in accordance with the AKALİD writing and publishing guidelines. Articles that are not uploaded in the specified format will not be evaluated. Headings and subheadings in the article should be numbered as follows:

Articles should not include page numbers, headers, or footers. Main headings should be in ALL CAPS, while other headings should have only the first letters of each word capitalized, with no additional formatting. Spelling and punctuation should follow the Turkish Language Association (TDK) guidelines, except in specific cases required by the content or subject.

▪ Articles submitted to AKALİD should use footnotes, with full source details provided. Footnotes are placed after the sentence period. Example:

Yusuf Halis Efendi was responsible not only for many state duties but also for translating Arabic documents from the provinces to the Sublime Porte and other state offices. Clearly, Yusuf Halis Efendi was a remarkably experienced statesman.¹

▪ When a source is cited for the first time, the full citation should be given. Book titles are written in italics. Example:

▪ If a source is cited again in a footnote, and other sources have appeared in between, the author's initial, last name, first three words of the title, and ellipsis (…) can be used. Example:
